      The double-sided potential of Information technology had become a threat to the corporate industry yet; it can be a significant tool in developing a strategic advantage for an innovative company that can lead to the global market thru SIS.

      Strategic Information System (SIS) has been a great asset to the development and success of one of the many giant companies nowadays.  With SIS and innovations, companies are able to expand their networks, offer distinctive products and quality service, enhance their techniques and operations which make them at the top and advanced over their competitors.  SIS is beneficial and practical to consumers for it offers low cost products and services, convenience and ease of accessibility.

      However, with the advancement of SIS, small businesses that cannot afford to have SIS are pressured that threaten them to exit the market.  Still, having no SIS is no excuse to the failure of the business. Given that other competitors have the edge over them, a lot factors should be reconsidered and re-evaluated.  It’s important that when establishing a business, entrepreneurs must know its business’ weaknesses and strengths among other competitors. Global competition is not just about price and quality; it’s about service as well.  In the case of small businesses, they could develop new strategies that would enhance their business such as offering additional training to their employee for better work performance and service to their consumers.  Also, they could offer different and unique products, and enhance their market place to attract more buyers. 

      Having SIS is an advantage because it brings more consumers and profit to the business however; IT is not the only key resource for a business to be successful.  A little change in the business structure and strategy can be a great help to eliminate threats and stay globally competitive.
