      The double-sided potential of Information technology had become a threat to the corporate industry yet; it can be a significant tool in developing a strategic advantage for an innovative company that can lead to the global market thru SIS.

      Strategic Information System (SIS) has been a great asset to the development and success of one of the many giant companies nowadays.  With SIS and innovations, companies are able to expand their networks, offer distinctive products and quality service, enhance their techniques and operations which make them at the top and advanced over their competitors.  SIS is beneficial and practical to consumers for it offers low cost products and services, convenience and ease of accessibility.

      However, with the advancement of SIS, small businesses that cannot afford to have SIS are pressured that threaten them to exit the market.  Still, having no SIS is no excuse to the failure of the business. Given that other competitors have the edge over them, a lot factors should be reconsidered and re-evaluated.  It’s important that when establishing a business, entrepreneurs must know its business’ weaknesses and strengths among other competitors. Global competition is not just about price and quality; it’s about service as well.  In the case of small businesses, they could develop new strategies that would enhance their business such as offering additional training to their employee for better work performance and service to their consumers.  Also, they could offer different and unique products, and enhance their market place to attract more buyers. 

      Having SIS is an advantage because it brings more consumers and profit to the business however; IT is not the only key resource for a business to be successful.  A little change in the business structure and strategy can be a great help to eliminate threats and stay globally competitive.

     Nowadays, more and more young people engaged in online shopping ever since Internet and technology have influenced our lives.  Some people find online shopping more convenient and less stressful.  Anyone, at home or at work, can shop online anytime they want even at night using the “one-click” style ordering and just wait for a few days for their packages to arrive without any frustration dealing with the traffic or walking for hours.  Moreover, online markets offer consumers with a lot of choices and are helpful and convenient in times of holiday wherein traditional markets are crowded by buyers.

 

Regardless of the popularity of e-commerce, traditional shopping is still of great importance in our society. Traditional shopping, for me, is much better than online shopping.  Here are my reasons:

One of the core benefits of traditional shopping that I really like is that I am able to touch, see, check and try the product personally unlike online stores that provide consumers only with pictures and videos.  Moreover, I get the chance to see other things they could offer and that could be of my interest.

 

Traditional shopping provides immediate gratification that online shopping cannot offer.  I can immediately get and bring the product I bought without any delay and with no additional shipping fee.

 

I can ask for the assistance of the seller and ask more information about the product. In that way, I can make a better decision and pick a better product.

Aside from that, going out to the mall or local store with my friends is more fun and enjoyable experience than just sitting in front of the laptop.

 

Like a coin, traditional and online shopping, has two sides. Both have positive and negative benefits to consider.  After all, it’s just a matter of personal choice, most importantly, it satisfies your needs.

 

     Major changes have occurred in the society ever since information technology has existed whereas; IT becomes a part of our lives that we couldn’t imagine a life without it.  The influence of IT has raised the human capabilities and has significantly contributed to the world we live in now. IT opens the door of opportunity, convenience and learning for all.

     As a student, Information technology has been a huge advance and has been a great help not only with my studies but also in my personal goals.  With the help of computers and internet, everything becomes instant. I am able to expand my knowledge by looking the information I need on the internet. Moreover, lecture notes, assignments, music, news and information are now accessible through the internet. Keeping and managing files altogether is so simple to do and so effective for personal organization.  Aside from that, it allows me to communicate easily with my family and friends using Facebook and instant messaging.  IT also allows me to search for anything and even gave me a glimpse of places I’ve never been to thru media and by the images and videos available on the internet. IT has significantly influenced my life.
